Our founder, Dale Murugan, has had a long-standing interest and passion in Australia's mining sector. Growing up in Coolgardie, a small mining town in rural Australia, Dale was fascinated from a young age by how excavating dirt provided a livelihood for so many.
After studying economics and computer science, Dale worked at a leading tech consultancy in Perth, developing software for tier-one natural resource companies. However, feeling a disconnect from being behind a keyboard, he took on a FIFO role on a 4/3 roster. This role gave him the opportunity to fully immerse himself in the industry and understand the challenges experienced on the ground.
It was then that he realized that while mining companies have adequate software, what they lack access to are the insights that can be drawn from the data these applications collect. Dale started discussing this with those in his network, and this pain point was validated with paid engagements.
